Veterans

Every day, we benefit from the freedoms we share as Americans-freedoms that our veterans put their lives on the line to protect. Congressman Steny Hoyer believes in honoring the service of these brave men and women and in keeping faith with them when they return home. Our veterans deserve the top-notch health care and opportunities for education they've earned.

Congressman Hoyer is improving health care for our returning troops by working to end delays and cutting red tape. He also strengthened veterans' care by expanding mental health services, increasing access to health care in rural areas, and improving care for over 2 million female veterans. He fought to pass the 21st Century GI Bill, which funds four years of higher education for all of our veterans who have served actively since 9/11-that means college opportunities for over 2 million veterans. And Congressman Hoyer has worked to improve veterans' services in our Maryland communities and to upgrade our community's military facilities at Patuxent River, Indian Head, and Webster Field.

Maryland's veterans have stood up for our country-and Congressman Hoyer has a record of standing up for them.
