GREENBELT, MD – This afternoon, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) met with representatives from Women’s Commissions from across the Fifth District to discuss the issues most important to the organizations:
“I enjoyed meeting with representatives from Women’s Commissions from across the Fifth District today to learn more about the work they are doing in our community. In light of the Trump Administration’s constant attacks on women’s rights, I’m proud to help lead efforts in Congress to fight for equal pay, paid family and medical leave, higher wages, and stronger protections against domestic violence. As we marked Equal Pay Day last week, I was pleased to join my Democratic colleagues in reintroducing the Paycheck Fairness Act, legislation to ensure equal pay means equal work.
“I want to thank the Fifth District Women’s Commissions for their commitment to supporting women in our community and their work to strengthen families throughout our state.”
