Hoyer, VA Promise Help for Veterans

Reports that the U.S. Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) was lagging behind in the processing of claims submitted by military veterans have gotten the attention of elected officials. The fact that the Baltimore Regional Office was one of the slowest processors in the nation raised the hackles of several elected officials, including U.S. House of Representatives Minority Whip Steny H. Hoyer [D-District 5]. “I was shocked,” said Hoyer, who added he then got the Maryland Congressional Delegation involved. “This is unacceptable. Frankly, we need to get every state in a position where we are processing claims in a timely manner."

Hoyer Attends 9th Annual Western Maryland Democratic Summit

HAGERSTOWN MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) attended the 9th annual Western Maryland Democratic Summit today. Hoyer Attends Democrats of the Year Dinner Hosted by the Democratic Club of St. Mary’s County

LEONARDTOWN MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-5) attended the annual Democrats of the Year Dinner hosted by the Democratic Club of St. Mary’s County this evening at the Leonardtown Firehouse. U.S. House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md. 5th) received the Calvert County Democratic Central Committee’s Louis L. Goldstein Award for echoing the qualities of Goldstein a former Maryland comptroller and state senator representing Calvert County who died in 1998. “I am honored to be honored in the name of Louis Goldstein ” Hoyer 73 said.
