Hoyer Attends Prince George's County Ploughman & Fisherman Unity Dinner

UPPER MARLBORO, MD -- This evening, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) delivered remarks at the annual Prince George's County Ploughman & Fisherman Unity dinner. He was joined by U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski, Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker, and others.

“I was pleased to join fellow Democrats tonight to discuss what is at stake this election," said Congressman Hoyer“2016 will indeed be another 'change' election – a moment when we make history by electing Hillary Clinton as President of the United States. Here in Maryland, we helped pave the way for the shattering of that glass ceiling by putting our faith in Senator Barbara Mikulski -- a trailblazer and the longest-serving woman in the history of the Senate and the first-ever to chair the powerful Appropriations Committee. She has made Maryland incredibly proud, and I was honored to join in celebrating her work to ensure all of our people can reach for the opportunities they deserve."

"I'm going to be working hard to ensure that Chris Van Hollen can follow in her footsteps as our next Senator, in addition to supporting Anthony Brown and Democrats up and down the ballot," continued Congressman Hoyer. "Over the coming weeks, I know that Prince George’s Democrats will work to turn out the vote so that we can make history again, as we did in 2008 and 2012, and achieve victory for our state, our country, and our children’s future.”
