Hoyer Delivers Remarks at Prince George's County Democratic Central Committee's Annual Ploughman and Fisherman Unity Dinner

UPPER MARLBORO, MD -- Last night, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) attended the Prince George's County Democratic Central Committee's annual Ploughman and Fisherman Dinner with Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Congressman Anthony Brown (MD-04). Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) gave the keynote speech, and Maryland Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Matthews served as the Mistress of Ceremonies.

“I was glad to join Prince George's County Democrats last night in Upper Marlboro," said Congressman Hoyer. "When we gathered together a year ago, none of us could have predicted where we would find ourselves twelve months later. We now inhabit a deeply changed country, where each of us is being called upon to stand up in defense of our rights and our values. I'm proud that Prince George's County Democrats are responding to the effects of last year’s election not with resignation but with energy and activism for the causes we hold dear. 2018 will be a year when Democrats in Maryland and across the country have all the ingredients for victory. I look forward to continuing to work closely with Democrats here in Prince George's County to advance our causes."
