Hoyer Receives Endorsement from The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund

Washington, D.C. – The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, this week announced new endorsements for election to the U.S. House of Representatives. The endorsements included Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05).

"I'm proud to stand with the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund in fighting for a cleaner, more sustainable, and equitable environment,” said Congressman Hoyer.  “The air we breathe, the water we drink, and the natural ecosystems that sustain our planet are ours to save or squander. I am grateful to partner with President Biden to implement Democrats’ Investing in America agenda — a transformational set of laws that includes the largest-ever investment in fighting the climate crisis — but there is still much to be done. I look forward to collaborating closely with the League of Conservation Voters and other advocates from across Maryland and our country to promote policies at the federal level that conserve the environment and tackle the critical challenge of addressing the climate crisis."

“This Earth Day is a critical reminder that our fight against the climate crisis and pollution depends on leaders in Congress who will prioritize the health and rights of communities over Big Polluters and special interests, especially communities of color and communities with low wealth who are the most impacted by extreme weather and pollution,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President for Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “LCV Action Fund is thrilled to endorse these candidates for Congress to protect the health of our communities, clean water and clean air, and a free and fair democracy for future generations.”

About LCV Action Fund

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, the connected federal political action committee (PAC) of the League of Conservation Voters, works to elect leaders who stand up for a clean, healthy environment and to defeat anti-environment candidates who oppose climate action. Since the 1990 election cycle, LCVAF has helped elect and re-elect 95 U.S. Senators and 482 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the last several years, our efforts have also helped elevate climate change and clean energy as critical issues in key elections.
