LANHAM, MD - This afternoon, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) toured the headquarters of 2U, Inc. The organization partners with colleges and universities throughout the country to deliver online degree programs.
"I was glad to tour 2U, Inc. this afternoon in Lanham and learn more about the work they are doing to create jobs in Prince George's County and help students around the world," said Congressman Hoyer. "Ensuring students have access to affordable, quality resources to be successful is critically important to the future of education in our nation. I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the digital education provided by 2U, Inc."
“Improving access to higher education and skills training programs is a top priority for House Democrats and is an important component of my Make It In America jobs and opportunity agenda,” continued Congressman Hoyer. “I’m pleased that the House Education and Labor Committee has passed out of committee the College Affordability Act to reauthorize the Higher Education Act. This critical legislation works to lower the cost of higher education, holds schools accountable for the success of their students, and expands opportunities for students from all backgrounds. I look forward to bringing the legislation to the House Floor in the near future. I will continue to work with my colleagues to remove barriers to education for students in Maryland and across the nation.”
